SOLD ~~ BELTON TYPE BISQUE HEAD MAROTTE
This doll, or Marotte, has a bisque head, blue painted eyes, and a closed painted mouth. You can see on the photo that there is a small speck on his chin of what looks to be the red paint from the mouth. I have done a bit of research on the internet. I'm not quite certain what Belton type means, but all the Marottes I found which look like this one were described that way. It was manufactured in the early 1900's. On the back of the head is incised ''101 5/0.'' The head does come off the stick. Some Marottes are musical, but this one is not. I have shown a photo of the underneath of the clothing. The colors are pink, blue & salmon with lace around the collar and the bottom of the colored part of the clothing. There is netting underneath that. A bit of staining on the clothing, but nothing which detracts from the overall look. You can see one of the small spots (rust?) on the light pink section. The other is in the back and it is smaller. The Marotte wears a blue hat and the trim is some sort of glued on cardboard. This doll, including the stick, is 13." Everything appears to be original, but I am not an expert on vintage/antique dolls. Looks cute displayed with a larger bear.

FOR SALE ~~ VINTAGE ADELAIDE HIEBEL FRAMED PRINT GIRL TEDDY BEAR & BLUEBIRDS
This is an old and original print by Adelaide Hiebel, titled 'The Bluebirds Song of Happiness.' I imagine this was created in the 1920's based on the little girl's dress and teddy bear. This is not a reproduction. The gold painted frame is in rugged shape and it appears there is a bit of water damage near the top of the print. I'm sure it would look lovely in a different antique frame. I did not take it apart. Adelaide Hiebel's painted women & children and her work ranks right up there with Maud Humphrey and Bessie Pease Gutmann. The frame size is 15" X 12".

SOLD ~ ANTIQUE GERMAN BEAR IN LITHO WOOD CAGE ON WHEELS WITH SQUEAKER
German Bear in Litho Wood Cage on
Wheels Squeaker Toy. The cage is 9 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 7 " tall. Red tile lithograph
roof and sides. Metal wheels. I have seen another for sale and it was marked 'Made in Germany' on the bottom.....this one is not. Roof is curved. Bear is composition covered
with gold bristle mohair & glass eyes. When you open the door, the bear swings out
and makes a squeaking noise (growl?). The bear is about 5 1/2" long and 4"
tall to top of head. Early toy, 1910-20's vintage. Litho on the roof is lighter
in some areas. The roof has two corners with damage, a crack in it, wood
chipped off in one area and some peeling of the red litho shingles. One of the “bars” is missing on the cage
door. The back wall is bowed in the
middle. It has definitely been played with.
This piece is not perfect but I have taken photos of all sides to show it’s
condition.
